Sonny on his 76th birthday which he celebrated on May 5 of this year.

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of one of Two Hills’ most recognizable and influential figures, Sonny Rajoo. Family, friends, and community members have come together to share their love and treasured memories of a man whose kindness, leadership, and unwavering dedication touched countless lives—not only within Two Hills and the surrounding county, but across the world.

Known for his razor-sharp wit, charismatic personality, and unmistakable voice, Sonny quickly became a beloved member of the community after arriving in Two Hills more than 25 years ago. He founded the Two Hills and County Chronicle, establishing it as a respected local publication and becoming a passionate advocate for the people he served. Never one to shy away from difficult conversations or controversial issues, Sonny earned a reputation as a fearless champion of community interests.

His commitment to public service eventually led him into municipal politics, where he proudly served on the Town of Two Hills Council for more than a decade before retiring in 2025. Throughout his years in office and beyond, his love for the community remained evident in every decision, conversation, and act of service. He believed deeply in giving back and worked tirelessly to help make Two Hills a better place for future generations.

Beyond his public accomplishments, Sonny will be remembered for his generosity, compassion, and countless quiet acts of kindness. He was always willing to lend a listening ear, offer encouragement, or support someone in need. Even in retirement, he remained engaged with local affairs and continued to advocate for the people and causes he cared about.

Sonny leaves behind three children, six grandchildren, two brothers, and a sister. He is now reunited with his parents, three brothers, and his beloved baby sister, all of whom he held close in his heart. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the friendships he nurtured, and the community he helped shape.

At this time, we encourage those who knew Sonny not only to mourn his passing but also to celebrate a life defined by service, courage, generosity, and love. From his family spread across three continents to the many friends and colleagues whose lives he enriched, Sonny Rajoo will be deeply missed and forever remembered with gratitude and affection.
